Launching a Campaign

You can launch campaigns in various ways. When testing, a “Start on event” object is often used to start a (test) flow. This object is always intended to display something visual in your browser. If this doesn't happen within 5 minutes, the entire campaign will be stopped by the system. You can prevent this by placing a landing page directly after the 'Start on event' object, ensuring something is visible in your browser (see the example below).

Example: Smart-Run Campaign Testing

Below is an example of a smart-run campaign. Imagine you've created a campaign and want to test its functionality with colleagues. You could link an extra flow to the campaign via a 'Start on event' object, to easily launch a flow without having to fully start the campaign. By directly linking a landing page to the Start on event' object, the campaign will always be processed.

Testing with a Test Record

When you're testing, it's best to create a customer record that you control. This allows you to test various scenarios.

Using 'Override' in a Mail Object

Within a campaign's mail object, there's a checkbox that let’s you change the recipient address of the email. Instead of going to the customer, the email will be sent to the address you entered. This feature allows you to use customer data and receive the emails yourself that would otherwise go to the customer.

To prevent your own inbox from being bombarded, a maximum of 50 can be sent via the override function per customer selection. If the emails are sent one by one, this limit does not apply, and you will receive all emails.

Inspector

You can investigate which objects were processed at what time by clicking the Inspector, at the top of the campaign canvas.

Opening this will show you a list of the objects within the campaign.

It's also possible to filter by object within the campaign. You do this by clicking the "Object" select box, which will give you a list of all objects in the campaign. Clicking on one of the objects in the list will filter the inspector's view. If multiple objects within the campaign have the same name and type, you can distinguish them by their id.
